The project, located in the heart of the Greater Bay Area, occupies an entire floor of an office building, offering a 360-degree view and excellent lighting conditions. The design draws inspiration from the city's iconic cultural and natural landscapes, including rolling mountains and the rhythm of the river. The result is a space that reflects the emotional power of flow, tension, fusion, and freedom, offering endless possibilities for imagination.
Stream's unique properties lie in its innovative use of curves to segment the space functionally. The curvilinear shape, formed from a metal skeleton with an exterior painted finish, reshapes the spatial relationship, creating a visually impactful space sculpture. The design not only stands out for its aesthetic appeal but also for its ability to meet the requirements of a flexible, mobile, and green office.
The technical realization of Stream was a challenge due to the high requirements for design and construction. The design team, led by Kris Lin and Anda Yang, had to explore the limits of structure and modeling, breaking away from traditional vertical space composition. Despite these challenges, the team successfully created a new interface for the city skyline with bold curve elements.
The project, which started in December 2020 and was completed in August 2021, reflects the future of office spaces. Large, open floor plates provide a more connected, collaborative environment that reinforces a common culture, fosters innovation, and attracts top talent. The design tells a purposeful story reflecting local culture and context, enhancing the tenant experience while respecting their surroundings.
Stream's innovative design has earned it the Golden A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2022. The award recognizes marvelous, outstanding, and trendsetting creations that reflect the designer's prodigy and wisdom. It is a testament to the design's extraordinary excellence and its significant impact on the world with its desirable characteristics.
